Greed Island – Charlie

Greed Island spawned in the tight-knit seaweeds of seacoast New Hampshire’s DIY scene. These disciples of Pavement hit an especially sweet note on “Charlie,” a song written for a bird friend.

The band’s Chris Kennedy gave us the song’s story:

“It’s about a robin that built a nest and laid eggs in a flowerpot on our porch. She was kind of like our roommate and we watched her feed her babies and teach them how to fly and eat bugs and stuff.”

“Charlie” is (premiered here) the first song off the band’s upcoming album: Nest Egg.
